After plenty of rain in Eastbourne on Monday, it was all blue skies and sunshine at the 2016 Aegon International on Tuesday as the tournament’s second-round wrapped up.
Unfortunately, the event has already seen the last of the reigning Aegon International champion as Belinda Bencic lost her first match to Russian Elena Vesnina in straight sets, making an early exit from the scene of her first WTA title.
Other top seeds fared much better as Petra Kvitova, Eugenie Bouchard & Agnieszka Radwanska are all safely through to the next round. While Kvitova and Bouchard won their matches in straight sets, Radwanska had to play less than a full match as opponent Marijana Lucic-Baroni retired early into the second set.
