The third round of the 2016 Aegon International in Eastbourne completed on Wednesday as the final Wimbledon lead-up tournament is quickly heading towards it exciting conclusion.
Wednesday had plenty of reasons for the local fans to be happy about as Britain’s Johanna Konta is through to the round of the last eight, upsetting two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova.
Kvitova wasn’t the only big-name fatality on Wednesday as past Eastbourne champion Caroline Wozniacki has failed to the make the quarter-finals as well. Wozniacki lost her match against Monica Puig, joning Eugenie Bouchard on the list of defeated players as the popular Canadian fell to world #3 Agnieszka Radwanska.
