Monday at the 2016 Generali Ladies Linz provided plenty of variety as the tournament kicked into higher gear.
In the morning, the tournament’s qualifying stage completed as Mandy Minella, Karolina Pliskova, Oceane Dodin & Sara Sorribes Tormo made the tournament’s packed main draw field.
Afterwards, the first main draw matches were played and the tournament started off with a bunch of surprising results, including Laura Siegemund’s loss to Viktorija Golubic and Sorana Cirstea’s comprehensive win over #6 seed Kiki Bertens.
