Vera Zvonareva was forced to make a break from tennis to nurse all the accumulated injures, but she used the time away from the sport wisely, getting married to Alexander, a man she had met years ago during a run, giving birth to daughter Evelina and studying for a Master’s degree in Political Science. The former world No.2 and winner of 12 WTA titles is now ready to come back to the competition and we can see her listed as an alternate in the qualifying draw of a 15K ITF tournament in Istanbul this month.
