Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray Will Meet in French Open Final

PARIS — For the fourth time in five years, Novak Djokovic is one victory from completing his collection of Grand Slam singles trophies.

He put himself back in position to strike with a precise and commanding 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 victory over the next-generation threat Dominic Thiem on Friday in the French Open semifinals.

“I did not start this tournament like I wanted, but today I played my best match of the tournament,” Djokovic said in his on-court remarks in his fast-improving French.

In Sunday’s final, the top-seeded Djokovic will face No. 2 Andy Murray, who reached his first French Open final with a 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory over the defending champion Stan Wawrinka.
