Maria Sharapova has finished off her 2017 World Team Tennis season with a victorious run in Newport Beach last night.
Playing her second WTT appearance this year prior to rejoining the WTA tour in Stanford next week, the five-time Grand Slam winner led her Orange County Breakers to a much-cheered win over the San Diego Aviators, following a win in doubles partnering Andreja Klepac and a singles win over American Shelby Rogers.
After her duty for the team was done, Sharapova spent the rest of the evening in Orange County cheering on her team mates and answering countless requests for selfies and autographs as the WTA’s headline star unsurprisingly was in much demand from both the fans and the media in southern California.
