Lucic-Baroni simply doesn't care, brushes aside Pliskova like she's a regular in Grand Slam quarterfinals

In a high-quality quarterfinal of quick points and breathtaking winners, WTA veteran Mirjana Lucic-Baroni continued her spectacular Australian Open story with a 6-4 3-6 6-4 victory over world number five Karolina Pliskova, who had been undefeated in the 2017 season, having won the Brisbane International in the lead-up to the Grand Slam in Melbourne.

After saving a break point with an ace in the opening game, the fifth-seeded Pliskova built a 3-1 lead, but focused and determined Lucic-Baroni displayed brilliant tennis that felt like walls narrowing down on Pliskova and recovered to 3-all before dominantly breaking the Czech again in the tenth game to claim the first set.
