British number one Johanna Konta eased into the third round of the BNP Paribas Open with a straight sets victory over Madison Brengle at Indian Wells.
Konta, seeded 25, beat Brengle 6-4 6-0 in 64 minutes to record her first victory in four attempts over the 25-year-old American.
She broke Brengle five times in the match and won 24 of the 31 points contested in the second set.
Andy Murray takes on Marcel Granollers of Spain later on Saturday.
