World No.19 Johanna Konta is the first British woman seeded at Wimbledon since 1984, but besides making history for her country, the 25-year-old today made history for her tennis career, winning a main-draw match at SW19 for the first time.
Coming to Wimbledon following a successful semifinal run in her hometown of Eastbourne, which included a victory over two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, Konta made a strong start at the grasscourt Grand Slam, quickly finishing the first set against Monica Puig by virtue of three breaks of serve to her opponent's none.
