Kim Clijsters and seven American players receive US Open women’s singles wildcards

Four-time Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium is among 2020 US Open wildcard recipients, the USTA revealed in today’s announcement.

The 37-year-old mother of three, who won the US Open in 2005, 2009 and 2010, will compete at the major for the first time since her second retirement in 2012. The International Tennis Hall of Famer returned to the tour in February this year and currently is not ranked.

Besides Clijsters, Americans Usue Arconada, CiCi Bellis, Francesca Di Lorenzo, Caroline Dolehide, Ann Li, Robin Montgomery and Whitney Osuigwe will play the August 31st–September 13th US Open as wildcard entries.
