Johanna Konta wins biggest title of her career at Miami Open

Johanna Konta won her third and biggest WTA title by defeating former world number one Caroline Wozniacki in the final of the Miami Open. The victory will push the Briton to a new career-high ranking of number seven.

The tenth-seeded Konta opened the match with high-intensity tennis, racing to a 2-0 lead, while Wozniacki needed more time to warm up, but after a slow start the Dane leveled to 2-all. The 25-year-old Konta then again established dominance by going 4-2 up, and even though her more experienced opponent recovered to 4-all, persistent Konta broke her serve once more and served out the set in the tenth game.
