About four months after being diagnosed with throat and breast cancer, Martina Navratilova announces that treatments were successful and that she is now cancer-free.
The 66-year-old Navratilova told TalkTV’s Piers Morgan that she has managed to eliminate both cancers, which were unrelated to each other and her health prognosis was 50/50. Fortunately, the treatment was effective and the doctors consider the tennis legend to be cancer-free. Still, she’ll undergo a few more preventative treatments: “I still need to do the right breast probably with radiation but only for a couple of weeks and that’s more preventative than anything else.
