Former world No. 1 Garbine Muguruza is expecting her first child! The two-time Grand Slam champion shared the announcement with a series of charming polaroid snapshots, including one of herself in a one-piece swimsuit framed by palm trees and another in the arms of her husband, Arthur Borges.
Muguruza, who retired from professional tennis last year at the age of 30, got married to Borges in an intimate wedding ceremony in Spain on October 5, 2024. The couple’s story is straight out of a romance novel. They met by chance in 2021 during the US Open in New York’s Central Park.
