Former doubles No.1 Kveta Peschke to end tennis career after Wimbledon

Former doubles world No.1 Kveta Peschke has just played the last WTA tournament in her long career, losing in the first round of doubles at the Credit One Charleston Open. Having spent 29 years on the WTA Tour, the Czech player will retire after Wimbledon 2022.

Peschke and her doubles partner Tereza Mihalikova lost to Anna Danilina and Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-3 6-3 in the first round of the Credit One Charleston Open on Friday. It was the last WTA match of the 46-year-old’s career, while her final tournament will be Wimbledon.
