Defending champ Muguruza upset, Halep the only Top 6 seed to reach the third round

In the second round of Wimbledon, top seed Simona Halep looked to be in danger of joining the heap of defeated seeds, but the world No.1 overcame a slow start and won ten games in a row from a 3-5 deficit in the first set to defeat China’s world No.126 Zheng Saisai 7-5 6-0.

Third seed Garbine Muguruza suffered the earliest exit of a defending champion at Wimbledon since Steffi Graf was defeated in the first round in 1994. The Spaniard lost her second-round match to Alison Van Uytvanck 5-7 6-2 6-1.
