Danielle Collins battles past Ons Jabeur to reach Roland Garros quarterfinals

In a matched rescheduled from Monday to Tuesday because of rain, American world No.57 Danielle Collins knocked out 30th seed Ons Jabeur of Tunisia 6-4 4-6 6-4 to complete the quarterfinal field at the 2020 French Open.

The fourth-round clash opened calmly, with short games and solid holds of serve on both sides. The situation heated up in the seventh game, when Collins earned first break points in the match at 4-3. Even though Jabeur managed to fight them off and level to 4-4, the Tunisian’s level drastically declined from then on and Collins surged to a 6-4 3-0 lead, winning most of the points in that stretch.
