More than two years after retiring, Caroline Wozniacki officially bid farewell to tennis in an exhibition match played in Copenhagen, Denmark against good friend Angelique Kerber.
“The Final One” was supposed to be Wozniacki’s last competition set to take place in May 2020 and her opponent was supposed to be Serena Williams. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the event to be postponed and two years later Kerber stepped in as Williams’ replacement in the exhibition.
Shortly before “The Final One” exho, Kerber posted a photo with Wozniacki, saying: “In a few hours, friends become rivals (again).
