Brutal Serena grabs 100th singles match win at US Open in 44 minutes to reach the semifinals

The eighth-seeded Williams won 90% of points behind her first serve, 7/7 net points and 5/5 break points against the 18th-seeded Wang whose winning percentage on first serve was a nightmare 17%. The 27-year-old Chinese won just four points in the second set and in the entire match managed to score just one winner. Hence the result is 6-0 6-1.

Williams, who is chasing a record-equaling 24th Grand Slam title, will play fifth seed Elina Svitolina in the semis, as the Ukrainian progressed past Johanna Konta in straight sets earlier on Tuesday.
