Barty, Osaka, Badosa breeze into the Australian Open third round

Top-ranked Ashleigh Barty, defending champion Naomi Osaka and red hot Paula Badosa all comfortably won their second-round matches in Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday.

Ashleigh Barty needed just 52 minutes to brush aside Italian qualifier Lucia Bronzetti 6-1 6-1. The world No.142 Bronzetti, who started last season just inside the Top 400, was one of nine Grand Slam debutantes in the draw.

Home favorite Barty has not dropped a game on her serve at the 2022 Australian Open so far and her season has started with a 6-0 win loss record, as she won the Adelaide International title last week.
