Jeremy Pruitt was hired as the Tennessee Volunteers’ head football coach on December 7th, 2017. College football’s first ever early signing period began December 20th. Pruitt coached the Alabama defense in the Sugar Bowl on January 1st and in the national championship game on January 8th. National Signing Day was February 7th.
During that entire time, he had to assemble a coaching staff, a process which ended just last week following an unexpected departure.
Forgive Pruitt if planning for his first spring football practice as Vols coach has been put on the back burner with other more pressing issues to attend to.
