Vols offense stalls again in second straight loss to South Carolina

Tennessee looked on Friday night much like it did on Thursday — unable to get an out when it needed one most and unable to get a big hit when it needed one most.

The Vols (17-11, 4-4) dropped the second game of their three-game series to South Carolina, 6-2. Andre Lipcius had the lone RBI for Tennessee — the Volunteers’ other run was unearned.

Tennessee starting pitcher Garrett Stallings did not have a particularly good outing, going six innings and giving up four earned runs on eight hits.

But Tennessee’s problem in this series has been its offense, which continued to struggle on Friday night.
