Tennessee gained a “new” commit Saturday afternoon—but it’s a name that some fans are already familiar with. Top JUCO running back Tiyon Evans re-committed to the Volunteers, after previously de-committing back in September.
Evans is ranked as the No. 1 JUCO running back in both 247Sports rankings and the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s right on the border for a 4th star. In the Composite rankings, he’s a 3-star, but the site’s own rankings do put him as a blue-chip recruit. He currently plays on the Hutchinson C.C. team in Kansas.
There were rumblings that the Volunteers were still the team to beat even after Evans de-committed.
