Tennessee’s Jarrett Guarantano spending spring break with renowned QB coach

Tennessee redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano entered his college career with high expectations. Guarantano, a former four-star prospect, was the top-ranked dual-threat quarterback for the 2016 national signing class.

And so far, he’s taken the right steps this offseason to improve his chances at earning the vacant starting quarterback job this season following the departure of Josh Dobbs.

Per the Knoxville News-Sentinel, Guarantano is among a group of college quarterbacks training with quarterback coach George Whitfield in San Diego this week. Whitfield, who has worked with the likes of Cam Newton, credited the redshirt freshman’s attitude heading into the spring quarterback battle.
