Tennessee’s quest to fill two open spots on their 2018-19 roster is still ongoing. One target is off the board, however. James Akinjo — a four-star point guard — announced his intention to attend Georgetown on Monday morning.
Tennessee got in very late to the party with Akinjo after his decommitment from UConn. Akinjo opened things back up after Kevin Ollie was fired. Georgetown and Patrick Ewing seemed to instantly become the new favorites. Today, they sealed the deal.
With Akinjo off the board, Tyler Harris heading to Memphis and Anfernee Simons heading to the NBA, Tennessee’s options are thinning.
