Probably the most frustrating part of the Florida Gators series for Tennessee football is the number of times the Vols just gave away the game. Too often, they seem like they are in over their head in the series and not ready for the moment because of the mental lapses they make. It is seriously mind-boggling.
The crazy plays and inexplicable losses are what lead fans on Rocky Top to believe they are snake-bitten with the Gators. Many times, it has been when they had the better team. This is similar to when the Alabama Crimson Tide owned the Vols from 1986 through 1994 despite UT having the better team in most of those games
It’s one thing to lose a close game in the series.
