Tennessee football spring practice: 4 keys to Vols secondary

Through two scrimmages and lots of experimentation, Tennessee football has a lot riding on its secondary in Jeremy Pruitt’s first season. The Vols lose both their top four cornerbacks from last year, including an early departure from Rashaan Gaulden.

Pruitt, however, has insisted that they are not too thin at cornerback. With guys like Shawn Shamburger, Marquill Osborne and Baylen Buchanan already back there, that somewhat could be the case. Add in conversions of guys like Carlin Fils-Aime, and he may be even more onto something.

The safeties are in better shape overall with Nigel Warrior, Micah Abernathy and Todd Kelly Jr.
