The 2016 Tennessee Vols recruiting class but a heavy emphasis on quality over quantity. After two years where Butch Jones was able to sign 31 and 29 prospects in 2014 and 2015 respectively, the roster is so stacked going into this year that he only signed 21 guys.
And he had to be careful about who he would pick.
That meant the class was not going to be a typical Top 5 class the way it was the past two years, and while Tennessee would inevitably miss on some guys, Jones and the coaching staff would be fine as long as they heavily evaluated who they were bringing in.
