They tied it up at seven and were only down by one score with less than five minutes to go in the third quarter. If you know anything about the state of Tennessee football, that’s worthy of celebrating when facing the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on the road.

Everybody will bring up Bama losing Tua Tagovailoa to injury, but the Vols lost their starting quarterback, Brian Maurer, to injury. And anybody who saw the game could tell that Jarrett Guarantano was a significant drop-off.

Anyway, the game provided signs of encouragement for Rocky Top.
