Whenever a coordinator change happens, it can have a dramatic effect on a program. And that effect doesn’t always happen immediately. Tennessee football has undergone numerous assistant coach changes in the past that dramatically shaped its history.
The Vols are undergoing another change this year with the switch from Tyson Helton to Jim Chaney. Such a move is a return to the past, as Chaney was on Rocky Top for four years, one under Lane Kiffin and three under Derek Dooley.
