Tennessee Baseball Coach Dave Serrano to Step Down

Dave Serrano informed his team Wednesday that he will be stepping down as the head baseball coach at Tennessee at the end of this season.

Serrano has been the head coach at Tennessee since 2012. He took the job at Tennessee after taking UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton to the College World Series.

Serrano is 157-160 as the head coach of the Vols and has not led the team to the NCAA Tournament during his tenure. Tennessee also never finished .500 in SEC play under Serrano.

Larry Simcox will act as the interim head coach while Athletic Director John Currie searches for a new man to head a program traditionally at the bottom of the SEC and one which has not made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2005.
