Report: Tennessee Fires First-Year DL Coach Jimmy Brumbaugh

According to Austin Price of VolQuest, Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt has fired first-year co-defensive and D-Line coach through just four games with the team.

Tennessee’s gotten off to a rough start, so an on-staff shakeup isn’t so surprising, except for, well, they typically happen more in the offseason.

Brumbaugh was hired last offseason when Tennessee let Tracy Rocker’s contract expire, but the defensive line hasn’t performed great this season accruing just eight sacks and allowing nearly 600 rushing yards through four games.

I mentioned earlier, the timing is surprising because, well, coaches just don’t get fired mid-year that often.
