Peyton Manning set to deliver keynote address at unusual event

It’s too soon to say whether Peyton Manning will be calling games for the Worldwide Leader in Sports, but the former Vols legend is now confirmed to be speaking at an event in a totally different field.

Now that Jon Gruden has left the Monday Night Football booth for the Oakland Raiders, ESPN has expressed interest in talking to Manning about the now-vacant analyst job, as reported by Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated.

It’s not clear whether Manning, who has not previously announced games, is interested in the job. Should he join the “Monday Night Football” crew, though, he would become just the third former SEC player to broadcast “MNF” games, following former Georgia quarterback Fran Tarkenton (1979 to 1982) and former Alabama quarterback Joe Namath (1985).
