The Lady Vols (21-1) scored both of their runs in the first inning and never allowed the Jaguars (10-11) to climb back into the game. Caylan Arnold and Matty Moss were effective in the circle, as Arnold went four innings with eight strikeouts and Moss (10-1) struck out four batters while closing out the final three frames.

In the bottom of the first, UT was able to get runners in scoring position with one out, as Meghan Gregg singled and advanced to second on the throw, which allowed Jenna Holcomb to make it from first to third base.
