Maryland (7-19) struck first, plating a run in the top of the fourth. Jacqui Pascial doubled down the left field line to score Skylynne Ellazar.
Tennessee (29-1) scored one run in the bottom of the fourth when Chelsea Seggern crossed home plate on a wild pitch to tie the score at 1-1.
Seggern drove in the first run of UT's five-run fifth, knocking a single to the wall in center field to bring home Aubrey Leach. Two batters later, Scarlet McSwain hit a two-RBI single up the middle to score Seggern and Meghan Gregg. Abby Lockman belted a two-run home run to left center, her third of the weekend, to push UT's lead to 6-1.
