Moving of title trophy shows Jeremy Pruitt not afraid to embrace expectations

Symbolism doesn’t win games, but it can be significant.

For example, take the recent remodeling that took place under Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt. Apparently, he didn’t like where UT’s national championship trophy was positioned, so he moved it.

The trophy had been under a stairwell in UT’s indoor practice facility. Sure, players and coaches could see it when they went to and from practice, but it hardly was prominently displayed. Now, the trophy is near the coaches’ office, where it can be seen from the practice field and by all the coaches.

There’s good reason to move that important piece of hardware.
