In all likelihood, Jeremy Pruitt won’t win the SEC or even the East Division in his first season as Tennessee’s coach. That’s understandable.
But it’s reasonable to think he’ll post a far better record than the 4-8 mark that Butch Jones put up last season. Pruitt may even be able to win an SEC game, which Jones wasn’t able to do last season.
Some will call me too optimistic, but I think the Vols are much better than their record indicated last season. While many fans have said they’d be happy with six wins and a bowl bid in 2018, I’m putting the bar at eight wins.
