Kevin Sherrer will not immediately take over as the defensive coordinator at Tennessee. That news was confirmed on Monday when Georgia coach Kirby Smart addressed the media in Athens.
Smart is happy for his outside linebackers coach and glad he’s sticking around for now.
“When he got the opportunity he got, which I’m really proud of him and his opportunity, first thing he said, he wanted to finish out right, and we want him to,” Smart said. “So he’s done a tremendous job with our outside linebacker group, and he always has. It’s important for us to be at our best in this College Football Playoff.
