Former Tennessee forward Derrick Walker lands at Nebraska

Former Tennessee forward Derrick Walker has found a new home in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Walker, who entered the NCAA Transfer Portal two weeks ago, announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he will be joining the Nebraska Cornhuskers to finish out the final two seasons of his college career.

Walker joins first-year Nebraska head coach Fred Hoidberg, who was let go by the Chicago Bulls in 2019 after four seasons.

The Cornhuskers finished in the second round of the NIT to cap off a 19-17 overall last season.

After a promising freshman campaign in 2017-18, Walker appeared to have taken a step back in sophomore season in Knoxville.
