With the 37th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons have selected Tennessee shooting guard Chaz Lanier. This exact spot was heavily rumored in the weeks leading up to the draft and it ends up happening tonight.
The Pistons went 44-38 this past season and landed the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Detroit is led by star guard Cade Cunningham and former Volunteer Tobias Harris. The organization badly needed some shooting depth at guard and Lanier certainly fits that bill here early in the second round.
Lanier averaged 18 points for Tennessee this season, which was his only year against SEC competition.
