The Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol has been nominated for Sports Event of the Year by the Sports Business Awards.
The game is nominated against the 2016 Cope America Centenario Knockout Round, 2016 Indianapolis 500, 2016 Ryder Cup, 2016 World Series and the World Cup of Hockey 2016.
The Battle at Bristol game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech, played at Bristol Motor Speedway, took place before the largest capacity crowd in college football history with an official attendance of 156,990.
