As awkward as it may be, it’s time for Tennessee to honor Phillip Fulmer in a permanent way

Al Wilson and Jason Witten will be fantastic additions to the Neyland Stadium jumbotron.

First, former Tennessee coach Butch Jones needed to go as soon as possible. Second, former UT defensive end Reggie White, whom Witten will replace, surely would have approved of the change based on the character of Wilson and Witten. They also happened to be incredibly good players at UT. Wilson helped the Vols to a national title, and Witten was a standout as a Vol and has gone on to a sure-fire NFL Hall of Fame career for the Dallas Cowboys. He also has been outspoken against domestic violence and supported various charitable organizations.
