Less than two days ago, the Tennessee Volunteers were bounced from the NCAA Tournamnet by the North Carolina Tar Heels. Now, two players on their way to the major leagues.
According to Wes Rucker of GoVols 247, both Andre Lipcius and Garrett Stallings were selected in the MLB Draft on Tuesday.
Lipcius, the Vols’ third basemen was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the third round, while Stallings was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fifth round.
Per Rucker, both players are expected to sign, but can decide to opt out and return to school if they wish to do so.
