Monday is President’s Day, and because of that, we’re going to celebrate some current and past SEC players (and one coach) who share a last name with a former president.
Before the 2017 season, for instance, we could’ve celebrated LSU cornerback Donte Jackson, Georgia linebacker Lorenzo Carter and Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson (hopefully, you do know that there have been U.S. presidents with the last names of Jackson, Carter and Johnson).
First, we’ll look at six players with presidential last names who should have big 2018 seasons; then we’ll look at eight former SEC notables who share last names with past leaders of the free world.
