6 Best Tennessee Football Players For 2015

The Tennessee Volunteers have their fair share of impact talents to work with on their road to College Football Playoff glory in 2015, and these next guys are the biggest assets of all. Here's our list of the 6 Best Tennessee Football Players For 2015:

6) SS Brian Randolph, Sr.

The 6-0, 208-pounder, one of the few elder statesmen on the Vols roster, finished with 88 tackles last year and two interceptions last season. Randolph isn't an overly impressive athlete, but it's his extremely high football IQ that makes him so effective.

5) LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Jr.

Reeves-Maybin was one of Tennessee's breakout starts last year, coming up with 101 tackles and an interception with two sacks and 11 tackles for loss. His biggest asset is his quickness, allowing him to move fluidly to get to the ball when attacking the run and be effective in pass coverage.

4) LB Curt Maggitt, Sr.

The 6-3, 246-pound senior hybrid linebacker/defensive end led the team with 11 sacks, 48 tackles, and 15 tackles for loss last season. As a former high school receiver, the has the athleticism to make plays all over the field, so look for Tennessee to use him more in pass coverage this year.

3) RB Jalen Hurd, So.

Hurd ran for 899 yards and five touchdowns on just 199 carries as a true freshman and will look to become one of the best running backs in the nation in his sophomore campaign. He has an elite combination of size, strength, and speed, and that should lead to more production in 2015 as he carries more of the load offensively.

2) DE Derek Barnett, So.

Barnett started ten games in his freshman year, recording 72 tackles with ten sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss. The 6-3, 268-pounder has tremendous quickness off the snap, and uses a plethora of pass rushing moves to get into the backfield with ease. He’ll be a marked man this year, but that should give his teammates more chances to make plays.

1) QB Joshua Dobbs, Jr.

Dobbs led Tennessee to a 4-2 record after taking over during the last six games of the season, passing for 1,206 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 469 yards and eight more touchdowns. He needs to improve his decision making, but having a whole offseason as the starter should help in that regard. His athleticism and arm talent make him a dangerous weapon, and Dobbs could be the breakout star in the SEC.
