The Tennessee Titans are having major issues at cornerback right now. The main culprit was Mike Borgonzi's decision to trade Jarvis Brownlee and Roger McCreary in season. The start of the Titans' issues at corner could be traced back to what felt like a harmless offseason move, however.
Borgonzi arrived as GM and immediately began undoing many of his predecessor's decisions. Borgonzi's first glaring move was to release starting cornerback Chido Awuzie from his contract after an injury-riddled 2024 season. Awuzie had been signed by Ran Carthon to a three-year, $36 million contract.
Awuzie was met with a lukewarm market in free agency, initially proving the Titans right to cut him from a $36 million agreement.
