NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Wesley Woodyard played much better football in his second year with the Titans that his first.
But the ideal weakside inside linebacker to play alongside Avery Williamson would be a bigger than Woodyard’s 6-foot-0, 233 pounds.
The Titans agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Steelers linebacker Sean Spence Wednesday. He’ll certainly get a chance to challenge with Woodyard.
But he does not bring the additional size: He is 5-foot-11 and 231 pounds.
Greg Cosell of NFL Films just told me on my Nashville radio show that the size is really the main similarity between Woodyard and Spence.
