Ryan Tannehill made his first start as a Titan on Sunday, and helped lead the team to a 23-20 victory over the Chargers in heart-pounding fashion.
Tannehill, acquired in an offseason trade from the Miami Dolphins, spent the first portion of the season as a backup to Marcus Mariota, but after the overall ineffectiveness of Mariota over the course of the first five and a half games of the season, Tannehill was sent in to replace Mariota last week in the Titans’ 16-0 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Tannehill showed promise in the game, despite not putting up any points, and apparently, that was more than enough for the team to put their faith in him.
