Mike Mularkey shows football trumps friendship by parting with his WR coach

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- As a franchise, the Tennessee Titans have had perpetual wide receiver problems.

In 2016 they made a major philosophical change under GM Jon Robinson and coach Mike Mularkey, away from athletically gifted but imprecise players such as Dorial Green-Beckham and Justin Hunter to more exacting route-runners in Rishard Matthews and fifth-round pick Tajae Sharpe.

While the Titans made some gains in the transition, apparently the coaching at the position didn't satisfy Mike Mularkey.

The team has parted ways with receivers coach Bob Bratkowski and assistant receivers coach Jason Tucker.
