Mike Mularkey: Out-of-league assistants were waiting for right spot

Don't make too much of three new assistant coaches not having been in the league recently, Titans coach Mike Mularkey told The Wake Up Zone in Nashville on Tuesday.

Offensive line coach Russ Grimm, receivers coach Bob Bratkowski and assistant secondary coach Steve Jackson did not come to Mularkey's staff from other NFL jobs.

"Russ has had a number of job opportunities over the last couple of years, he’s just declined the offers," Mularkey said. "It’s really important to him to be with the right people. He told me that early on that if you ever get a chance again, you’re one of the people I’d like to work for.
