2014 NFL Draft: Tennessee Titans Select Zach Mettenberger

With the 178th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans have selected Zach Mettenberger out of LSU.

Position: Quarterback

Measurables: 6’5”, 224 lbs, 32 ⅜” arm length, 9 ¾” hands

As the only quarterback in LSU history to throw for 2,500 yards in back-to-back seasons, the two-time Tigers’ team captain went 19-6 in 25 starts with the program. In 2013, he went 192-for-296 for 3,082 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Mettenberger tore an ACL in LSU’s regular-season finale against Arkansas -- missing their Outback Bowl match-up against Iowa.

Mettenberger has the perfect size for an NFL quarterback, along with the arm strength and velocity to make any throw necessary. He shows exceptional touch on deep routes, and is able to locate receivers for big plays down the field. He has experience in a pro-style offense, and started gaining momentum as a team leader at LSU during his senior year.
